Chartered Biologist (C.Biol)

Today’s professional must keep up to date in knowledge and skills and must demonstrate competence in the work place. The IOB provides for membership as a Chartered Biologist which endorses the high standards expected of biologists and is for international recognition as a hallmark of professional competence and ethical conduct. Charted status is meant to demonstrate to employers a high level of biological accomplishment, personal integrity and professional attributes in addition to academic qualifications.

Who are eligible to become Chartered Biologists?

Fellows and members who have been with the Institute for more than 5 years are eligible to apply to the Council for permission to use the designation C.Biol, a distinction immediately comparable with the corresponding designations of other respected professionals.

Sri Lanka wins a Silver Medal at International Biology Olympiad 2011

Arun Rajaratnam of Trinity College, Kandy won a Silver Medal at the International Biology Olympiad held at Taipei, Taiwan which concluded on 17 July 2011.
