Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winners will be requested to participate Medal Awarding Ceremony at IOB sessions on 25 September 2009 at 8.00 am at SLAAS Auditorium, "Vidya Mandiraya", 120/10, Wijerama Road, Colombo 7 to accept their medals.

Gold Medals
Marks between 76-80 - Silver Medals
Marks between 73-75 - Bronze Medals
Best three students will also be felicitated with other National Olympiad winners (such as Physics, Mathematics Olympiad) at World Science Day Ceremony, organized by National Science Foundation held at BMICH, Colombo in November.
Out of the gold medallists, four students
will be selected after another examination, to participate International Biology Olympiad to be held
in South Korea in July 2010. (But to participate International Competition
age of the contestants should be below 20 years of age on 30 June 2010.)

Sameera Ariyarathna of Bandaranayake Vidyalaya, Gampaha and Udari Samarasiri of Vishaka Vidyalaya Colombo won Bronze medals at 20th International Biology Olympiad held in Tsukuba, Japan, which held from 12- 19 July 2009. This is the first time that Sri Lanka participated this prestigious competition. International Biology Olympiad is an internationally conducted competition, and in this year 221 bright students from 56 countries competed for medals.
Based on the results of SLBO 2008, following students participated in 20th International Biology Olympiad in Tsukuba, Japan from 12 - 19 July 2009.
